GAZA, Sunday, August 25, 2024 (WAFA) — In a series of intense Israeli airstrikes today, five Palestinians were killed and several others were injured as the bombardment targeted various areas across the Gaza Strip, particularly focusing on the central and southern regions.
Local sources reported that Israeli artillery launched a heavy barrage on the city of Deir al-Balah and the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Simultaneously, Israeli drones fired upon civilians near the Al-Anan Stadium in Deir al-Balah, resulting in the killing of three individuals and injuries to dozens more.
In a separate incident, a child succumbed to critical injuries sustained from an Israeli airstrike that hit a group of civilians in the Al-Batn al-Sameen area south of Khan Younis ten days ago.
Meantime, rescue teams and civil defense units recovered the body of an individual from the town of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis.
Additionally, Israeli artillery targeted a home belonging to the Ayad family in the Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in 40,334 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 93,356 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
