NEW DELHI, Nov. 12 — Six young students, including three boys and three girls, aged between 19 and 24 years, died in a heart wrenching road accident in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand on Tuesday, confirmed a local cop.
The accident occurred in the state capital Dehradun at around 02:00, after the SUV carrying the youths rammed into a stationary heavy vehicle and then hit a tree.
While six occupants of the SUV died instantly, one was admitted to a local hospital in a serious condition. All the victims were local residents and were out for a picnic when the mishap took place.
The impact of the accident was such that the SUV was badly mangled, and the victims were brought out of it with the help of gas-cutters.
