Pakistan to launch targeted operations against militants in Balochistan province

ISLAMABAD — Chief Minister of Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province Sarfraz Bugti has said that targeted operations against terrorist groups will be launched in the province to curb militant activities.

Bugti told media on Monday that the operations would focus on areas housing terrorist camps.

“We are determined to root out the elements responsible for destabilizing the province and to ensure the safety of our citizens,” he added.

On Nov. 19, the National Action Plan Apex Committee decided to launch a comprehensive military operation against terrorist organizations in the province.
