ISTANBUL – At least 20 people were injured on Sunday in an explosion at a pasta factory in Türkiye’s northwestern Sakarya province, local media reported.
The incident occurred at the Oba Pasta factory near the Anatolian Highway in the Hendek district’s industrial zone, Halk TV said.
According to the news channel, the explosion took place at a production boiler and caused a fire.
Firefighters and ambulances were promptly dispatched to the scene, it said, noting that the exact number of workers present at the time of the explosion remains unclear.
The injured, including workers, have been transported to nearby hospitals, it added.
