GAZA – Palestinian woman Umm Ahmed Helles told an AA reporter about her deep sadness while sitting next to the grave of her son, who died in Israeli attacks, in one of the cemeteries in the city of Deyr al-Belah in the center of the Gaza Strip.
Sharing her memories with her son, the grieving mother expressed that she was deeply saddened by her son not being able to share the joy of Eid al-Adha this year.
Grieving mother Helles said, “We moved from Gaza to the south due to the attacks, but the bombardment found us and my 21-year-old son was martyred.” said.
Stating that she prayed for her son’s soul and asked for God’s mercy on him, the Palestinian mother said, “The attacks destroyed everything in the Gaza Strip. We want security and peace; we wish the attacks to end.” said.
Cemetery visit in a wheelchair
Majdi Abdu Rabbuh, who was injured in his feet as a result of Israeli attacks, visited his son-in-law’s grave in his wheelchair.
Abdu Rabbuh expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of his son-in-law and expressed his wishes for an end to Israel’s brutal attacks against innocent people in the Gaza Strip.
“I visit the grave of my daughter’s husband on Eid al-Adha and pray. He was martyred while treating an injured young man.” Abdu Rabbuh said:
“We were living in the Cibaliya Refugee Camp in the north of the Gaza Strip, but we moved to Deir al-Belah because our house was destroyed in the attacks. Israeli attacks did not stop, I was also injured and many members of my family were martyred.
The atmosphere of the holiday this year is completely different from previous holidays, there is neither joy nor pleasure. “People living in the Gaza Strip do not feel the joy of Eid as they did before the attacks, because everyone in Gaza lost their loved ones or their homes.”
Abdu Rabbuh added that sadness and pain dominate every home in the Gaza Strip.
The number of people killed in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7 increased by 41 in the last 24 hours, reaching 37 thousand 337.
