ISTANBUL, Monday, August 26, 2024 (WAFA) — American Jewish activist Medea Benjamin described the situation in the Gaza Strip as genocide, calling on the United States to stop its support for Israel.
Benjamin stressed, in statements to the Anadolu Agency, that the time has come for the international community to fulfill its obligations and end the aggression in the Strip, which is witnessing “genocide” and a systematic attempt to eliminate Palestinian civilians.
She added that the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza is an attempt to make people’s lives unlivable and to force them to leave their homeland. She continued, “What we are witnessing in Gaza is not just a conflict, but a planned campaign to eliminate the entire population.”
Benjamin affirmed the need for the world to recognize that what is happening in Gaza is “genocide” and to act accordingly, and criticized the US administration for supporting Israel despite all the atrocities it is committing, calling for a complete boycott of the Israeli government.
She further called for the need to immediately stop US arms shipments to Israel, describing it as a “blatant violation of human rights and American values.”
The American Jewish activist’s statements came ahead of the premiere of the documentary “Holy Salvation”, which was filmed by Turkish TV channel TRT World in the occupied Palestinian territories, and highlights the brutality of Jewish colonists against Palestinians.
